The children from 3rd to 6th class have just completed the final mile of their marathon. They ran an accumulated distance of 26.2miles (42.2km) over the past eight weeks, finishing up with their final mile this morning. This coincided with the opening of our new sports pitches and running track. A lot of parents came to watch and the rest of the school were out cheering the 3rd to 6th class children at the finish line. We also had a reporter and a photographer out from the Liffey Champion so keep an eye out for next weeks edition. The legendary Bobby King, Paul Robinson and Grace Clifford ran the mile with the children. A big thank you to all the parents who acted as event marshals. Thank you to the teachers for supplying the cakes, buns and sandwiches and to the parents association for providing the hot cup of tea after the run. Finally, a massive thank you to Ms. Diggin and the rest of the staff for organising such a successful event. Well done to all the children who participated. You should all be very proud of your significant achievement.
