The children in Fifth Class are participating in RITH 2016 today Friday 4th March. RITH 2016 is a relay run around Ireland visiting all 32 counties from the 4th to the 14th March. RITH celebrates our Irish language and is one of the main all-island events to commemorate the 1916 Easter Rising in a fun and healthy way.
An 800 km course has been set out for the RITH relay which features a special baton containing a message of hope from President Michael D Higgins. This baton is changing hand every kilometer along the way. RITH 2016 will finish outside the GPO on 14th March where the President’s message of hope will read.
Our school will run a km from Lidl Carpark to the Square (further if weather permits) starting at 11.30. We wish the participants every success
