THE HALLELUJAH CHOIR Parents of third and fourth classes have already received some information about the choir. Scoil Choca Naofa participates in the Hallelujah Choir every second year and it is a really valuable and enjoyable experience for the children. They learn a variety of songs which they perform at a concert in the RDS with other schools. However, the tickets are quite expensive and parents should not feel under any pressure to purchase them. Members of staff and I who will accompany the children will take lots of photos and post them on the website. We will also organise a short recital for parents in the school sometime in December.

SPONSORED WALK AND JUNIOR INFANT VACCINATION Both these events are scheduled for the same day – Wednesday 26th October.
To accommodate both, the Sponsored walk will start at 9.30am; Infants will be back about 10.30am for their goodies. The vaccinations will take place at 11.30am and Junior Infant Parents can take their children home once they are finished with the doctor.
The Raffle will take place on Thursday 27th.

CAR PARKING IN STAFF CAR PARK PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Parents should not park in the staff car park – and entry for children is through the school yard. Many thanks for your cooperation.
BOARD OF MANAGEMENT ELECTIONS Primary schools in Ireland are managed by Boards of Management – it is a locally based system comprising of 2 representatives of the Patron/Trustee; 2 parents’ representatives (male and female); 2 members of the local community; 2 representatives from the school (the Principal and a teacher). This means that communities have a strong role in how schools are run. Boards of Management are appointed for a four year term in accordance with the constitution of Boards and Rules of Procedure. The term of the current Board finishes at the end of November and we are now beginning the procedure for appointing the new Board.
This is the first stage in the SELECTION OF PARENTS REPRESENTATIVES.
