Newsletter November 2012

Dear Parents,

What a wonderful Opening Celebration we had  last month … tremendous credit to the teachers and pupils, the Board of Management and the Parents’ Association.  Monsignor Brendan Byrne performed the official opening. Guests included Presentation Sisters, some past pupils and teachers, representatives of Kilcock schools  and businesses , political representatives including the Lord Mayor of Kilcock and members of the design and building teams who constructed the new building.  A large crowd of parents attended on Friday to see the Pageant and  they also were very impressed.

The Parents’ Association presented the school with more than €4000 which will be used to fund a new Literacy Scheme in the school.

Thank you to the Parents’ Association for the lovely new TROPHY CABINET for the front foyer. Displayed in the cabinet you will see our camogie trophies, Crystal maze awards, recent awards for Art, a memento of a Japanese student teacher who spent three months in  Scoil Choca, St Patrick’s day Parade awards and a special sculpture of the Children of Lir presented by Liz and Aiden Byrne to our school to commemorate their two little girls, Mary Ellen and Kerrie, who died tragically while they were pupils in this school.
