I sat in on Rang IV’s Irish Dancing lesson on Friday and WOW! was I impressed: both with the number of dances they have learned and their enjoyment.
What a pity I didn’t have the camera – the best I could do was a short re-run on their way back to class. It’s great to think that many of our traditional Irish dances will be with us for another generation- Rince an Chiorcail (the Circle Dance), An Gharda agus an Ghabhair (The Peeler and the Goat), Rince na Scioból (traditional Barn Dance), Glanadh na bhFuinneog (Cleaning the Windows), Ballaí Luimní (Walls of Limerick), Ionsaí na hInse (Siege of Ennis) agus a lán eile.
