Irish Aid Visit

On 6th February, Ms. Tierney and Mr. Bracken brought their 3rd classes to a workshop at the Irish Aid offices in Dublin. After a quick lunch in The Ivy Gardens, the group were welcomed by the staff and were informed about the work of Irish Aid in 7 countries in Africa/Asia.

Irish Aid is a government body, managed by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.  It focuses on tackling hunger, poverty, climate change, inequality and supporting human rights around the world.

The workshop included some fun games and musical activities, aimed at exploring the links between our lives and the lives of people in other parts of the world. Tanzania was the chosen country on the day.

The staff at the centre commented that the group was the best-behaved and most knowledgeable group they had ever worked with. Well done 3rd Class and teachers!
