Ms. Soden’s and Ms. Mahon’s class took part in the “If I had an Artist for a Day”
Arts in Education Programme last September.
The workshop entitled “Porcelain Pictures” was with Ceramic Artist Isobel Egan.
The children worked on paper thin porcelain making marks, drawing, embossing and
painting to produce the porcelain pictures. These were taken away to be fired by the artist and then returned to the school. They
are currently hanging on a window in the foyer of the school, where the natural
light illuminates the delicate, transparent porcelain.
