Drumming to their own beat before Easter Break

In early April 2017 David Day, percussionist, returned to our school to conduct his annual percussion workshop.  David Day is the founder of Jabba Jabba Jembe, he has been studying African and World Drumming for over 20 years at home in Ireland and also with Teachers  in Europe the US, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea and Ghana, West Africa. The pictures show a flavour of the fun experienced by Fifth and Sixth classes  together in the Halla. Unfortunately the videos captured are too large to upload for your perusal.

Children from all our classes in Junior Infants through to Sixth Class enjoyed a drumming workshop with David throughout his time with us in Scoil Chóca Naofa, Kilcock on April 3rd and 4th.  Many thanks to Ms. Ní Loinn for arranging that visit for everyone. Lots of different drums and percussion instruments used throughout the day. Wonderful rhythms echoed across the school on those days, easing us into our Easter Break.
