The National Museum of Ireland & Music in the Classroom

Ms Tierney and Mr Bracken’s 3rd classes visited the National Museum of Ireland, Decorative Arts & History on Tuesday, January 21st. We visited the Soldiers and Chiefs exhibition which relates to Irish soldiers in combat at home and abroad from 1550 to the present day. We also visited the Asgard exhibition. The Asgard was a yacht used in 1914 during the Howth Gun Running. It is a fantastic example of restoration.

We also attended Musical Adventures in the National Concert Hall and performed a song with the RTÉ National Concert Orchestra. We listened to 4 pieces of music from various composers and interacted with the orchestra’s conductor. A great day was had by all.
